BACKSTORY

In years and years before, gods were prominent figures of society. This too applied to the vast worlds beyond Earth. In some religions, gods came in cycles, and in others, they just merely existed. In a lonesome planet, similar to Earth, a kingdom was overrun by dark forces and its neighboring kingdoms. They had very little hope, and they knew the world was soon to end. In their religion, gods known as World Enders were prominent figures of society, and came every 2000 years, bringing doom and destruction to all that is held dear. These gods were pillars, ensuring that humans did not overstay their welcome, and signified the rebirth of society soon to come.The original world ender laid a curse on herself-she would reincarnate to destroy the world each and every time humans got too cocky with their god-given intelligence. It seemed nobody would learn their lesson, despite stories being told time and time again of the World Enders. Finally, the world ender retired privately, and moved on with her life, but not before cursing humanity again--there would be one final world-ender, who would destroy not just society, but the entire planet if they were to fail the original world ender again. This would ensure these cocky humans did not repeat the cycle again, she so believed.And so, the final world-ender was born from the heavens, found by one of the captains of the falling kingdom. A baby like any other, he took her in, not knowing what he had done. He gave this child a name, clothed her, fed her, raised her. This was his pride and joy, along with his own sons. He taught her to use a sword, and she quickly rose to the top and became a captain herself by the time she was 16. Together, they overthrew several battles, returning land and freedom to the kingdom.But, her younger brother became jealous. Why was the adopted child the one that became captain? How could she be better than him? He was willing to pay any price to make sure she met her demise. So her brother, torn by his jealousy, confided in the opposing kingdom, and became a captain of their army. He sought to destroy the adopted child, and finally, when they met face-to-face in battle, it happened.Part of the training required to become a knight of the falling kingdom was to be knowledgeable in magic. The adopted daughter knew plenty of basic magic, but she had secretly found she had a magic that none around her have heard of, except in fairytales. She kept this secret, and practiced privately, but it would grow more and more out of control by the day. Eventually, she gave up, telling herself that this magic would only destroy the kingdom.She was right. The world began pulling in on itself, portals opened into the stars, and the whole world around her began falling apart in a display of despair only betrayal can emit. She watched as her father tried to protect her, only to be torn to shreds too. In the end, nothing was left, and the world she knew was gone. She sat in space, mourning, totally afraid of herself. What had she done?But, she wasn't alone. The original world-ender came to her in this moment. "You have fulfilled your role, World-Ender. Well done." In tears, the new world-ender begins to yell. "This isn't what I wanted! I was supposed to save my kingdom, not destroy it!" But the original world-ender remained unaffected by the tears and anger. "Your wants are the result of fallacy, and you have done exactly as I requested." Tears poured from the succeeding world-ender's eyes. "Though you are not what I expected, you have managed to accomplish the role I made for you in the end. now go, move on to other worlds. Fulfill your duty. You are a world-ender, first and foremost, and you may live your life freely so long as you achieve this in the end."The original world-ender left her here, and the new world-ender was left to face herself. She mourned for a very, very long time, and when she realized she wouldn't just disappear, her sadness became rage. She practiced her godly powers, alone in the vast space where nothing could be hurt except desolate, lifeless planets. Eventually, she came to where she could form portals between universes. She used this power to go to a universe where her family would have lived on. She returned to the planet, and named herself as a descendant of the Captain, from a far off family that nobody would have known existed. They took her in, and she was happy again, but not for long, because again, her power spiraled when she was in war, and the same thing happened. This happened endlessly, until the world-ender finally gave up. She realized there was no point to this. She would keep destroying world after world if she could not control herself. When would enough be enough, she told herself. Until someone could kill her, she was unstoppable.The world-ender traversed worlds again, never staying for too long so the lifeforms could thrive. Eventually, she found one she could call home, so long as she returned to it for a few years at a time. This world is known as Earth, and she found that her magic rarely works in the current day. She became as normal as she could in a world where magic was believed to be a mockery of human trial and error. She explored her identity, her emotions, and her social life. The world-ender made friends, even. The world-ender, after so long of being alone, was finally free of the curse she bore, so long as she disappeared occasionally when her power started to spike.The world-ender gave herself a new name, and started expressing herself in ways that defied the person she grew up as. The world-ender, now named Es Noctilious, was now destined for greatness, rather than destruction. She can almost forget who she really is, now...

BACKSTORY

Murata Kaede, the adult waitress. That's not what she used to be known for, at least. Kaede was once an idol part of a teenage girl group called "R3IGNB0WS", but they disbanded pretty early in their career due to high costs at a low return rate. They weren't very well known, and Kaede definitely wasn't popular between herself and the three other idols, but she did her best anyway.Now, Kaede works as an adult waitress to make ends meet. She lives with her girlfriends, Nakamura Emiko and Takahashi Shion, who are also in the idol industry.
